Vice President , Nicole MacDonald

After graduating as a New Zealand Chartered Accountant, Nicole gained experience in the public accounting arena with Coopers and Lybrand (NZ) and in the commercial sector as Group Accountant for a NZ public company. Since moving to Australia, Nicole completed her Masters in Business Administration degree while acting as a consultant to a variety of SME’s.After working on the Gold Coast in both commercial and public accounting firms, Nicole founded 4U Accountants, a Business Advisory and Chartered Accountant Practice.

Her mantra ‘Working with you for you’ encompasses her passion for working closely with business owners to achieve successful and sustainable businesses. Nicole is a proud supporter of the Brisbane Roar Football Team.

Treasurer, Sally McBryde

Sally McBryde has worked in Corporate Finance/Restructuring for more than 15 years on the Gold Coast, London and Brisbane. She is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business in Accountancy from Queensland University of Technology. She is currently undergoing a change in direction and is studying a Master of Business (Accounting) at Queensland University of Technology with the ambition of working as an accountant in commerce to add value to the future direction of a company using her accumulated experience.

After 16 years working in the film and television industry around Australia, Rehana moved into the world of Event Management on the Gold Coast. She now runs her own company called Adcock Management and has several charity and corporate clients. Rehana was a founding member of BWi.

Margaret Miller

Margaret is a Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution and Litigation at Bell Group with an extensive commercial and legal background, including running a successful management consultancy for corporate and government clients before she became a lawyer. She is passionate about the art of advocacy and effective negotiation. Margaret follows a philosophy of client service, a strong work ethic, a passion for winning and an appreciation of the finer points of the law. She works closely with her team at Bell Legal Group and is a strong proponent of supporting women to reach their full potential, a value that is shared by everyone she connects with through BWi.

Sophie Pearson

Sophie Pearson is a Partner at McLaughlins Lawyers and has practised exclusively in the area of Family and De Facto Law since 1999. Sophie has extensive experience in representing her clients in mediations and through the negotiation process. When matters require the involvement of the Court then her clients have appreciated her excellent drafting skills in the preparation of Court documentation and Sophie is an experienced litigator with many years of Court experience extending back to 1994. Sophie was one of the first Australian Collaborative Lawyers and brings a collaborative respectful method to all her matters as an alternative to costly and acrimonious Court proceedings. Sophie is acutely aware that each matter is unique and will provide you with realistic commercial advice and creative options in a confidential and sympathetic environment.

Natalie Turvey

Natalie Turvey, is the Owner and Director of Drop of Life Pty Ltd. Drop of Life is a private practice that provides counselling services to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families in a confidential setting. Our psychologists and counsellors can help you stop feeling overwhelmed and begin to live a more fulfilling and balanced life again. Our clinic has been established on the Gold Coast for over 10 years so that our clients can learn to overcome negative reactions to traumatic life events. Drop Of Life’s psychologists and counsellors have experience in helping individuals, couples and families with a variety of issues.

Shae Brain

Shae is a qualified hairdresser with 15 years experience. Starting her apprenticeship at 14 years old, she started competing and winning prestigious awards within the industry.
She bought her first salon at 19 having undergone major surgery to her right hand just 5 weeks before her business venture began.
She now has 10 years business experience under her belt and is still as passionate about hairdressing as the day she began.
Shae is a born and bred gold coaster who spends her spare time either in the kitchen, cooking up nourishing soul food or you can find her on her yoga mat getting her Zen on.

Debbie Garchow

Debbie, is the owner of Debbie Does Books, a bookkeeping business. Debbie has 25 years experience in the accounting and bookkeeping. Debbie was a Chartered Accountant, but saw the need for qualified and experienced bookkeepers, so 10 years ago started Debbie Does Books, she is a registered BAS agent with the Australian Taxation Office and a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.

Suzie Ferguson

RBF Law came together as a result of Suzie’s 30 years experience in the legal industry. Suzie started her legal career in the early 1980s as a junior secretary working for one of the big firms on the Gold Coast. People know her from this time as Suzie Radecki. From the 1990s until 2015 she was known as Suzie Banks. It was during this time Suzie advanced to become a senior legal secretary working for other Gold Coast well-known law firms, not just as a conveyancing secretary, but also covering a broad range of commercial and property law matters. During her working career, Suzie developed extensive knowledge and a love for commercial and property law and, in 2008, she decided to pursue a law degree as a mature age student at Bond University. She was admitted to practice in 2012. In 2015, and remarried, Suzie started her own commercial and property law practice - RBF Law. RBF Law represents Suzie and her legal career - Radecki Banks Ferguson.
